I have been watching videos of pretty people like all day, which lead to Nylon TV’s YouTube ‘It’ Girl cover shoot videos. So I wrote down the songs from all of them and listened to them all and decided which ones I wanted on my tumblr today.
Here we go! (BTW I DIDN’T JUST PUT THEM ALL DOWN I DID REJECT SONGS I ACTUALLY WORKED AT THIS SHITZ YO) These songs are all the exact same genre.
Lovers by Igloos for Ojos - ubeat, alt/indie (well I’m pretty sure all these songs are alt/indie). Fun and will get stuck in your head. It got stuck in mine before I even finished listening to the whole thing.
Believe in Love by The Wooden Birds - Nylon says it’s ‘The Wooden Bird’ but I lookd it up and it’s birds in the plural, just so you know. This song is reallyyy chill. The kind of song you could have playing while you’re having a nostalgic moment on your back porch alone. It’s awesome without being cheesy with clear and chunky guitars at the same time. Romantic and beautiful. Check it out.
Maybe by The Submarines - not suppperrr unique I’ll admit. There’s probably a bunch of other songs like this. In fact I know there are. It kind of reminds me of a Coconut Records song I’ve heard as well as others. But it’s still happy-making.
Stars by Window Bird - wow these are all getting similar but I guess… idk whatever I’m getting tired loloololol. This is chill, in a word. Stereotypical indie, but with a weird change up halfway through that’s really unexpected. Nice beat, interesting vocals, weird pattern.
there should be another song right here but the vocals ruined it for me
Chemeleon by Maps - to be totally honest this song did not sound great at the beginning. They do some really cool stuff through the chorus and at the bridge that music-theory wise I admire because it sounds awesome. It reminds me of a very watered down version of Keane or early Muse or Coldplay which all sound pretty much the same.
Last song:
Janglin by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - This is probably the most acclaimed artist of all the ones I’ve put in this post, and this song out of all of them shows why. It has way more redeeming, unique and interesting qualities than the others. Sure it’s another indie song but it’s much more unique and something that sticks out in this list.

Gotta skip the beginning of lethargic rapper speak. Start 0:41 for music. I thought this was super interesting though. Tyler apparently couldn’t get piano lessons so he’s completely self-taught, showing intense will to learn music which really impresses me.
HERE YOU GO. You can’t really hear his voice but the piano impresses me if I haven’t mentioned before. That part from 1:38 after he says “Adventure Time” i find AMAZINGLY beautiful. I wish to learn it X3
